Faith is …
Faith is … Christian faith is … "In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it." Matthew 28:1 and 2.
To not have faith in Christ Jesus rising from the dead, as it states upon the event’s first witnesses as they discovered the open door, there is no faith found in you. This is one of many stated facts by many different witnesses and times as to the evidence of things hoped for with the evidence of things not seen as Hebrews 11:1 states in the well known faith chapter in the faith book itself, The Holy Bible. To believe is to have faith, and to have enough faith to live and walk by this faith requires man to give up his mortal faith in himself and rely totally on God’s ways, even supplying all of man’s needs.
Faith is … To believe … "His
countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: and for fear of
him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men." Matthew 28: 3
and 4. Just the sight of the angel, the keepers, the
Roman soldiers, fainted dead away. Faith in God, when discovered, may hit mortal
man as hard as the keepers upon seeing the angel of the Lord. When man finally
grasp the idea of the magnitude of the faith of the Lord, man will, as dead men,
faint straight away. Slain in the Spirit of God by the Spirit of God, the Holy
Spirit and instantly faith is instilled in man by the power of God. Or, man may
do it, finding faith, the old fashioned way, "So then
faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans
10:17. Faith comes by hearing what, hearing the word of God. Is it only in a
church building, upon hearing the word of God, that faith is grown in man? Faith
is materialized in man upon hearing the word of God! The more man hears, the
more man will grow in God’s faith and loose his own mortal faith.
Faith is … To seek … "And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come see the place where the Lord lay." Matthew 28: 5 and 6. The mighty Roman soldiers fainted dead way as they saw the angel of the Lord. The women; oh, they had faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, they were not as the dead men. They were in awe! Fear not, the angel said unto them, I know you are looking for Jesus, whom was crucified and buried. Faith to believe in the words of Jesus and not in man’s own senses. To see, through man’s eyes, man will only see the empty tomb where Jesus laid; but, to see, in your eyes of faith, it will show nothing; but, this empty tomb.
Faith is … To witness to others… "And go quickly, and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead: and, behold, He goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see Him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring His disciples word." Matthew 28: 7 and 8. The words go quickly, and tell? What is this meaning? Does it mean that when you finally, with open eyes and the Spirit of God dwelling in you, you are to go quickly to your house and shut yourself up in your room for fear of someone finding out that you have given yourself over to Someone else to control your life and that you are not in charge any longer? Does it mean you are hiding because you are to ashamed and do not want others to think you love Someone else more than you do yourself? Are you ashamed of what others may think or do to you because you maybe want to stand-up for God, the One you have just been toying with for all these years? Or, are have you just been telling others that you are not a God hater and not a lost soul and you are only doing these things because others have told you to not allow it? And all along it is you not wanting it so because you are the one, and not others, who do not want it to be allowed??? With fear and great joy we are to go and tell others the glory of the Lord God and not be ashamed of what others may or may not think of you!
Faith is … To see … "And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held Him by His feet, and worshipped Him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell My brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see Me." Matthew 28:9 and 10.
Wow, going and telling someone something about Someone they do not believe! I cannot do this, what will they say? I can just say all the right things to all the right people and I will not have to believe in what I say; and besides, I would not be educationally correct saying things like this and believing in a Someone that cannot be seen, heard or was not wrong as to the separation of church and state!
What would my boss do if he found out, I could be fired and I need these extra years. I could not possibly rock the boat at this time; but, remember I am a believer? Even if He did appear to me, I still could not go about telling others about Him, I need my job and my time. I am not a hypocrite because I tell you these things, I am believer! To be a believer, there must be faith in Jesus Christ and not be ashamed of Him and be His witness to others of His glory and not in what man thinks and in your own glory.
Faith is … Not in you when you do what these
scriptures say, "Now when they
were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the
chief priests all the things that were done. And when they were assembled
with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large sum of money unto the
soldiers, saying, say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole Him away while
we slept. And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and
secure you. So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying
is commonly reported among the Jews until this day." Matthew 28:11
through 15. You made your choice to save your job; but, you lost your soul! Your
job and what others thought about you were more important than your salvation
with your God, whom you just denied. "Uphold Me
according unto they word, that I may live: and let Me not be ashamed of my
hope." Psalm119:116. You. I am not yours if you are not Mine!
Faith is … Trusting in the Lord ... "Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And when they saw Him, they worshipped Him: but some doubted." Matthew 28:16 and 17. Faith, trust and belief in what so saith the Lord God. Faith is believing. Without any doubt. No stipulations put on God. Not being ashamed. Allowing the Word to be shared. This is faith, no excuses. Go where the Lord sends you. Do what the Lord has you to do. Say all things the Lord has you to say. Say all things of the Lord to everyone He says to say things to. Yet, doing all, saying all and believing all, there were and are doubters! Are you still a doubter?
Faith is … Not just in the faith chapters of the Holy Bible; but, in all our ways, actions, words, trust and witnessing the Gospel of Christ Jesus unashamed. Faith is … "And Jesus came and spake unto them saying, All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:18 through 20. Faith is … Sharing our faith! Not pretending to care, not walking a walk we are not faithfully walking and not talking a talk we are non-believingly talking. Faith is from the beginning to the ending and everything in between. Faith is the cornerstone of Christianity and the beginning and the ending of our salvation. Unashamed of God and His words, not willing to compromise God and His words and not willing to accept the 30 pieces of silver for God and His words.
Faith is … In God! "And we are His witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey Him." Acts of the Apostles 5:32. Without faith in God and in His ways, you are not His, stop pretending you are! I will not compromise my Lord. I believe in a whole lot more than what man wants me to believe in, you should also. Repent for your unfaithful ways or accept your divorce from God as an unfaithful spouse. Repent. Ask God to forgive you. I am His witness!
By my faith, Pastor Eddie
