Volume II        September 2006

The ‘WOW’ Newsletter

September, a tragic remembrance for the United States, school starting in some areas and the reminder that fall and winter are right around the corner. Labor Day, fall foliage beginning to take form and dog days of summer coming to a close.

In the State of Texas and in many others, the days of school started in mid-August. Different States mean different thinking from different State Legislatures.

Always, what is good for the gander is not always good for the goose. Everything, everyone and every State sets guidelines for their schools differently, with solid reasoning, economical and or with sound educational values.

However, the values set forth by God are not part of the educational curriculum these State’s Legislatures set down for their school districts and students. Our children’s minds are being molded by what man’s wisdom teaches man and not by the wisdom of God He wants to impart upon mankind. A huge gap is developing between man and God. And the sad part of this, is that man thinks he is winning the battle against ‘church and state’. To me, a Bible- believing Christian, the words of God need to be taught to as many children anywhere possible so our children will have enough savvy to withstand the perils of the devil, who can, and will, take them, and even you, whenever he desires to, at his will, and there is nothing you can do about it except to know how, to not let him take you to hell with him. 2 Timothy 2:26, "And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will."

September, a month to some for the new beginning of their education and possibly the deciding factor of their life’s dreams. What our children are taught at this early age, or even just being around at this time in their life, will have a major influence and impact on their life’s life. It can and will, alter or enhance their life’s dreams. Sometimes just the smallest of encounters of good or bad, Christian or worldly values, at their early life will hold the key to their success or failure.

For their life to become this good or evil, again, only the slightest of encounters may decide this child’s or your child’s life’s journey. Can you, as a parent or grandparent, tell which way your child or grandchild’s life will take them?

Parents and or grandparents, are you living your life’s dream? Were you so blessed to have received from your parents or grandparents a little of the Word of God to assist you in your journey to this point in your life? The children of today are the grandchildren of the generation of children that did not have the values of God taught them and they were not able to hear the Word of God in schools. The year was 1962 that the Supreme Court of the United States of America decided that God could not, through prayer, be taught in public schools across this great Nation. If we, you and I, parents and grandparents, do not pray for God’s guidance and wisdom, and strive to live our life’s dreams right along side of God’s values, where do you think your children will hear and learn God’s Words and ways? Or, what words do you think your children will learn which will leave them with their lasting impressions?

As I watch and hear our children of today, I see so very few with Godly ways and demeanors. I watch my children and my grandchildren and see ways which are good and ways which are not so good. Today, I walk with God; but, when my children were children, my ways were not always ways which walked side by side with God’s ways. This I have begged for forgiveness from my God and He has forgiven me.

As this September starts our children’s educational pathway to higher their learning so let it be also a new beginning in their career of moral values set forth from our God the Father. This can only be if, we as parents or grandparents, live our life with God, and teach, not so much as with word, but by our actions, deeds and ways which are our children’s best teacher at this impressionable age. In the Book of Matthew, Chapter 5, our Lord tells His disciples along with those which want to hear, "And seeing the multitudes, He went up into a mountain: and when He was set, His disciples came unto Him. And He opened His mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for their’s is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for their’s is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." Verses 1 through 12.

Have you heard any of these before? If so, and you have accepted these as your way of life, then Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:13 through 16 that "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light unto all that is in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." By your actions and deeds, will your children and grandchildren see you, along with the men of the world, and will they all see a house which cannot be divided, nor destroyed, nor one which allows the pull of the world and Satan to conquer your babies and will they all see a house which will not accept the tares of the devil to deceive, maim and kill! Is this your house????

Remember, September needs to be every month, day and hour; one in which our children and grandchildren will learn and have secured for them the base and strength they will need to achieve their life’s dreams. Without Jesus Christ and the Words of God in their hearts and minds, their soul will always be searching for the salt of men. Parents and grandparents, is it hid; or, is it in the open for all to see? Let us make up for all the lost times we let it just slip on by us and never say anything to our children and or our grandchildren. Let them hear from us, me and you, the ways which will enhance their life’s dreams to a point that they, as of now, do not know nor can ever know, if we do not change our ways first, then tell them. Let us all strive for the mark, as Apostle Paul said in Philippians 1:14,15 and 16, "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing."

What are we supposed to do now, to help our children and grandchildren?

First, let us help ourselves in preparation of helping our charge. In Chapter 2 of 2 Timothy, verses 14 through 16, verses 20 through 23 and verses 24 through 26 Paul and the Lord tell us, what we must do, how we must do it and the outcome if we do it God’s ways. "Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. …

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and of some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. … And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will."

Is this plain enough for you to understand? First, repent and learn to shew thyself approved unto God, then with the power of your Christ you may help and assist your children and grandchildren to their life’s dreams. September is not just for our children and grandchildren! Are they?
