MATTHEW 3:16, “And Jesus, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon Him.”

Can you see what God is doing with the 3:16’s? Preparedness, awareness, coping, strength!!! He has been taking us on a journey to heaven and how to fight to get there! And how to hold on and rebuke the devourer along the way. Do you feel like you have gained any strength or wisdom or knowledge on this trip??? Let us take our first look at the New Testament, won’t you? God didn’t start us out with the miraculous birth of Christ, John the Baptist, with Mary or the wise men following the star, or King Herod killing all the male babies, or the shepherds and the angels, or even the manger! This book is not covering these very important and interesting events and people. This book is all about, I feel, survival and unity and obedience and heaven and what it takes to get us there.

In God’s book, the Holy Bible, this 3:16, starts out with Jesus’ baptism which started Him on His journey, His ministry to the lost and unsaved and dying mankind!!! This is our journey continuing now, right now, side by side with Jesus’ journey which may lead us to our salvation and heaven. Are you ready to travel these next 21 chapters and see were it leads us? Let’s get started then!

In 3:13, “Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.” When God sends you, a way will be made!!! John the Baptist was the way God made with introducing the coming Messiah; now, not the next decade or century, right now! But John the Baptist was beheaded, that doesn’t sound like a thing I would like to do if this was my only reward. He wore skins and ate honey and locust, PHEW!!! That is not for me!!! Sorry, this was God’s plan for the Baptist. If you are looking for only rewards on this earth then you are looking to the wrong god!!! John was rewarded, in heaven!

What is your plan from God? Don’t know; well, He has got one for you! Ask Him and listen intently and often!!!! “But John forbad Him, saying, I have need to be baptized of Thee, and cometh Thou to me?” 3:14. This was John’s first time that I know of to meet Jesus, but he didn’t have to be properly introduced. He knew who Jesus was and you will also if you want to hear Him! John had proclaimed the coming of the One to all around. People thought he was crazy, weird and a religious freak!!!! But he knew Jesus when He came and he even tried to stop from baptizing Him, saying, ‘I need you to baptize me! And here You are coming to me!’ Who am I, I’m not worthy to unloose Your shoes, but yet, You are coming to me???? Has Jesus entered your heart, have you heard Him come to you and/or HAS HE COME TO YOU? “And Jesus answering said unto him, suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered Him.” 3:15. Let it be as it is now, so My Father’s plan will come to fulfillment for all the righteous. John obeyed!

Have you been baptized in Jesus’ name, do you know what you did or did you just do it because you were young and everyone else did it? Did you feel good or just wet? Maybe even cold? Did you feel as Jesus? “And Jesus, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon Him.” 3:16. GLORY TO GOD, did He speak in other tongues???

Was He baptized also in the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in other tongues? Was Jesus needing the Holy Spirit in His life also as we do for power and strength? Why certainly He did!!!! This is the start of Jesus’ ministry, ordained by God and given power to tread where no one has been before and He left us, YOU and I, the Holy Spirit when He ascended to the Father, so we may have the same power also to tread where we have never been before, either!!!! PRAISE YOU JESUS, what a marvelous God we serve. It is all planned out and waiting on us!

When you were baptized, or when you will be baptized, did or will you feel like maybe you will be somewhere where you have never been before? I felt like Peter when I was baptized in Jesus’ name and many times I felt like I could just take off and walk or run on the water!!! MY ANSWER FATHER, IS YESSSSS!!!!!

Then, “And lo a voice from heaven, saying, this is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.” 3:17. GLORY TO THE NAME OF GOD, OUR SALVATION WAY TO HEAVEN HAS JUST BEEN ORDAINED BY GOD TO BE STARTED UPON THIS MINISTRY, A SOUL SAVING MINISTRY, A HEALING MINISTRY, WITH SIGNS AND WONDERS, MIRACLES AND DELIVERANCES, LOVE AND MORE LOVE, TO GO FORTH AND PREACH ABOUT HIMSELF, THE GOOD NEWS, THE GOSPEL, THE WORD OF GOD!!!! COME AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST, SAID JESUS CHRIST!!!!!

Jesus didn’t have time to dry off good, I doubt if He even dried off, “Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.” Matthew 4:1. Jesus was Spirit led? God surely put Him to work fast, didn’t He, He didn’t even get to dry off good and ‘whammo’ tempted by the devil. Where have you been sent, to the devil also? Was it to be tempted or _______________?

Our work for Jesus is a never ending task. It is not a social club, or a dinner party, or a huge yard sale, or a carnival!!! IT IS WORK, AND NOT THAT KIND OF WORK, IT IS TO SURVIVE AND TO BE A LIGHT TO THOSE AROUND US. And when Jesus went up to be tempted after fasting and praying for forty days: praying, that’s old stuff, who needs it any more??? Well, for forty days and forty nights, this is what He did! Then He could meet the devil head on!!! Until we come to our senses and pray and work for God and be where we are supposed to be, EVEN JESUS HAD TO DO THIS, then and only then will our enemy be defeated. Don’t you remember we all have a job to do for Christ?

Jesus is preparing us, are we listening to all that He is telling us or just what we want to hear??? It is hard enough to hear Him the first time, mush less ask Him to repeat it!!! What the Lord is telling us, is that there is also a job to be done. Are you going to be a good labourer, a so so hand, or will you be receiving your pink slip??? You can have it either way you want it, one or the other, but not more than one!!! Which category is Jesus seeing you in now? Where will you go, heaven or hell, if Jesus came back, RIGHT NOW!! Is it where you would like to be? If not, do you think you need to be a hard worker, heaven earned, blood bought worker of Christ??? When this takes place and all the worldly desires are out of you and/or all the worldly worries are out of you, then Jesus can help you! Is this what you think??

First, you have to desire to change, then that prayer stuff comes back, then you have to ask Jesus into your heart and ask Him to forgive you of your sins, never to pick them up again!!!! Is this all possible? Can I do this and survive? It all depends on which survival course you take because you will like it a lot better; plus, you will like yourself a lot better also!!! This is Jesus’ ministry to heal, save, deliver, mend and to forgive sins! This is where our trek picks back up. Father I’m a sinner, forgive me. I repent, I call upon You as my tempter getter!!! In Jesus’ name, in His ministry! Amen.

Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordon unto _________ ! Will you be baptized, die in your flesh and be reborn and follow Jesus to heaven? Again, which teacher will you follow? Are you for sure? He, Jesus Christ, wants to know; now, is He coming for you or is he coming for you?????
